The Agriculture Association of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina is the basic form of organization and work within the Chamber for those Chamber members whose primary activity is agriculture.
The Agriculture Association of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina performs the following tasks:
The Statute of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina and the Rules of Procedure of the Board of the Agriculture Association allow groups to be organized within the Agriculture Association. A group is a form of action for all entities that have the same or a similar business interest and a need to coordinate their mutual relations with other entities and to ensure a joint approach to economic policy-making and to their presence on the market. Three Groups have been formed within the Agriculture Association of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina:
The merging of grape growers and winemakers into a Group within the PKV originated from an initiative of a number of reputable winemakers, who considered that, through the chamber system, they should ensure a joint approach to economic policy-making and to their presence on the market. Through the chamber system, the interests of the members of the Group of Grape and Wine Producers will be represented and protected in a unified manner before state bodies, local self-government bodies and other institutions of the system. Within the chamber system, the Group of Grape and Wine Producers will take part in public consultations during the adoption of laws and other regulations that concern the position of grape and wine producers. Within the activities of the chamber system as a whole, the service of the Agriculture Association will, in cooperation with the Group of Grape and Wine Producers, analyze economic policy measures and take part in proposing current measures aimed at improving the business of grape and wine producers. Through various forms of activity (consultations, seminars, training, fairs, etc.), the PKV Agriculture Association will provide organizational services to the members of the Group of Grape and Wine Producers. One of the production opportunities of the AP of Vojvodina in primary agriculture is traditional production without GMOs, as well as organic production. The advantages of this production are manifold, because the products of Vojvodina farmers will be more highly valued on both the domestic and foreign markets. Demand for organic products on the EU market is high. Bearing in mind the possibility of placement on foreign markets, there was a need to establish a Group for Organic Production within the Agriculture Association. The Group consists of representatives of companies and producers engaged in the production of organic products. Beekeepers from the territory of the AP of Vojvodina have joined together in a Group within the PKV, with the aim of ensuring, through the chamber system, a joint approach to economic policy-making and to their presence on the market. The Group for Beekeeping deals with issues of interest for improving the business of honey production.
